“Dear Robert: Thank you for building our dream basement! We are sure going to enjoy it for many years. You went above and beyond to give us extra upgrades with no charge and your work always amazed us. You were always present at the site and subcontractors you used were professional and courteous.  We enjoyed working with you.” Neda & Curtis Leonard

“Bob handled every aspect of our project from design through completion, including a “touchy” environmental issue, satisfying the city and still completing the project on time and on budget. I would highly recommend Bob and his team for any project.”

“Bob was skillful for us, and perhaps a bit fussy for the architect. That’s not a criticism. Any project will be controlled by somebody. It will be either the Architect, the Contractor, the Subs, or the Client. I vote for the Contractor and well, Bob knows how to handle everyone.

My wife and I were thrilled with our $600,000 remodel with RGM Construction. Bob McConnell is a consummate professional and a gentleman. Along with that, he’s also an experienced and strict contractor. He has long-established relationships with his sub-contractors and rides them as hard as he’s soft, yet firm, with us as his client.

As is to be expected with remodels of existing homes, there will be add-ons. Bob was always out-front with those and carefully explained why particular tasks needed to be done and why there were extra costs. Our home is much the better for it.

Bob’s manner with us was always collegial, respectful, and frankly, educational. Simply put, he’s a great guy. These attributes might not set him apart from any number of topnotch contractors working in Boulder County and environs, but Bob brings a whole lot more. I’ve mentioned his sub-contractors above, but these aren’t just sub-contractors. Each of these key components, whether they be plumbers, electricians, finish carpenters, tile layers, concrete setters, etc., were all completely professional, friendly, and engaging people who clearly had been working with Bob for a long time. This made for the work-site a very engaging space. That might seem immaterial but it’s not. There was familiarity among the workers and a mutual respect which made the various and completely predictable complications smooth. That takes real management skills and Bob clearly has those. I never personally saw him annoyed, but here and there, I might have heard a snippet or two from the subs about “Let’s not push Bob too far.” As the client, that’s all to the good.

The long tenure of RGM in the area also translates into respectful and collegial relationships with the various regulatory authorities. All of our inspections went through with flying colors, quickly, with no revisions, stop-orders, or re-doing of work done. This is priceless. Bob knows everybody and is clearly respected. Most of the inspections I witnessed were basically pro-forma since they knew Bob’s work already.

Another asset is Bob’s attention to cleanliness and detail. Since this was a remodel, he was careful to have the existing parts of our home completely protected with proper coverings to prevent any damage from the activity going on. Every day the workspaces were swept clean and the the dumpsters were routinely emptied.

As a final note, Bob’s attitude made our remodel kind of fun. Remodels really aren’t mostly fun and ours wasn’t either. We had to relocate and spend more than we budgeted, but our contractor, RGM, wasn’t any kind of source for our feeling of disconnection. It was actually Bob, who helped us remember what we were doing and why.

I’ve no doubt there are cheaper contractors out there. On the other hand, if you want respect for your home, respect for your sub-contractors, respect for yourselves as clients, then you need look no further than Bob McConnell at RGM.
Feel free to call us if you’ve any further questions. Finn Murphy and Deborah Edgecombe (508) 221-8481

“The level of service at RGM Construction Company, Inc is professional and personal. Having recently just been a customer, I am consistently impressed by the quality, time frame and overall friendliness.  Jim Gobert, Owner of Bonnie Brae Flowers, Denver

“In this day and age, it’s hard to find a company you can trust. RGM Construction Company, Inc was recommended to me by a friend, and now I know why – the quality of service I received was outstanding. We highly recommend RGM Construction Company to anyone looking for a high quality finish.” Mary Schubert, owner, house renovation, Boulder

We hired Bob to act as General Contractor for the construction of our mountain house in Boulder County.  It turned out to be a very good decision on our part.  We had a limited window of time to accomplish the build before winter made the site inaccessible. Thanks to Bob’s scheduling and organizational skills, the job was completed quickly, and very much to our satisfaction.  Not only is he extremely efficient and hard working, but he is a superb problem solver.  He knows the ins and outs with the county officials too.” Claudia & Chuck Johnson, owner, new construction, Boulder

“We have worked with RGM Construction for several new and remodel projects. We built a screened porch off our living room and when the inspector came for the final sign off he couldn’t believe how seamless the screened porch blended into the original home. Bob is that good. His work is impeccable, he won’t settle for mediocracy and the cleanliness is on a whole other level compared to other contractors. His relationships with his sub contractors are impressive and they all respect one another, a rare sighting. Bob will always take our call, advise us on the littlest of questions regarding our home and you know, he genuinely cares about the people he works with and for. Jane Box, Homeowner – Erie, Colorado
